Over the years, I’ve come to realise that the energy in the room on the morning of a wedding truly sets the tone for the whole day. And that energy comes from the people you choose to have around you during your most special moments.

Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of spending time with my bride Alicia and her gorgeous bridal party. The room was full of warmth, gentle laughter, quiet excitement and an overwhelming sense of care. Everyone was so present – not just physically, but emotionally – in tune with Alicia and focused on making her feel calm and loved.

At one point, one of her bridesmaids was quietly feeding her pieces of fruit. It was such a small, tender moment – but such a telling one. She didn’t want Alicia to go without food or feel faint, but she also didn’t want to risk smudging her lipstick. That sort of attentiveness, that kind of love – it’s the magic that makes mornings like these unforgettable.

Moments like that remind me of how grateful I am to do what I do. Of course, I’m there for the hair and makeup. But really, it’s more than that. I get to step into this incredibly intimate space, often as one of the first people a bride sees on her wedding day. And I don’t take that for granted.

I always hope to be more than just a supplier. I aim to bring calm, confidence and maybe even a few laughs. I want my brides to feel seen, supported and completely themselves. So choose your people carefully. Surround yourself with love. And know that those quiet, caring moments are the ones you’ll remember most.
